Music

We are very proud of the music program at Kokanee. We offer a comprehensive program throughout the year which has a heavy emphasis on musical learning, creating and performing.

There will be several assemblies throughout the school year conducted largely by the Music Department, in addition to grade level performances. Also, Kokanee's Music program directs a school Talent Show, and the Kokanee Choir performs at events around the community.

Please check the Music Calendar on this page for dates and times of music program events.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  “The Adventure of Lewis and Clark”

Thursday, March 19th, is the day Meriwether Lewis, William Clark and their group of explorers take to the Kokanee stage in the musical, “The Adventure of Lewis and Clark”. It is complete with songs, choreography, staging, acting, sets and props galore.  Each and every student will be intricately involved in many elements that go into putting a show like this together in a short time.

The musical includes historical facts and information about the expedition of these explorers, and supports information students are learning in their Social Studies curriculum.  It is a delightful script with both drama and comedy mixed among a variety of songs.

5th grade auditions:
If your 5th grade son/daughter is interested in auditioning for one of the major speaking roles, this Parent Permission Form must be returned with your signature before auditions occur on or before Wednesday, February 5th.   Students auditioning will be required to stay after school from 2:45-4:00 p.m. on February 5th, and have a ride home.

In addition, those who are chosen and cast in the major roles will need to be available for additional rehearsals on Wednesday, March 11th and Wednesday, March 18th after school from 2:45-4:00 p.m.

We are very excited to start the adventure!
